Unbecoming:
A 12-Week Complex Trauma Recovery Program
You Are Not Broken. You Are Adapted.
When you grow up in an environment that is unsafe, unpredictable, or emotionally barren, your nervous system does exactly what it is designed to do: it adapts. You learn to be invisible, or to be perfect, or to manage the emotions of everyone around you. You learn to survive.
The problem with complex trauma is that these brilliant survival strategies follow us into adulthood. Long after the environment has changed, the adaptations remain. You might feel constantly exhausted, chronically anxious, or carry a quiet, persistent ache that something is fundamentally wrong with you.
The sense of who you are and what you had to do to survive can feel completely fused.
Unbecoming is a 12-week live coaching program for individuals navigating complex or developmental trauma. It is built on a single, radical premise: the goal of trauma recovery is not to fix you. It is to help you unravel the adaptations that are no longer serving you, so you can access the wholeness that has been there all along.
This program integrates clinical trauma education, relational psychology, and somatic practices (drawn from my background in yoga therapy) to guide you through the slow, deliberate process of unbecoming who you had to be.
The Program
Phase 1: The Architecture of Survival (Weeks 1-3)
We reframe your symptoms as survival strategies. We explore how trauma lives in the nervous system and begin to deconstruct the internalized shame of developmental trauma.
Phase 2: The Unraveling (Weeks 4-7)
We look closely at the "fawn" response (people-pleasing as a trauma reaction), the role of the inner critic as a misguided protector, and the complicated grief for the childhood you did not get.
Phase 3: Reclaiming the Architecture (Weeks 8-10)
We focus on the body. Reconnecting with the intuition that was overridden in childhood, understanding the somatic experience of setting boundaries, and learning to navigate the discomfort of safety.
Phase 4: Integration (Weeks 11-12)
We explore the terrifying and liberating space of not being in crisis, and set realistic expectations for the ongoing, non-linear process of living as a recovering human.
What Is Included:
12 Live 1:1 Sessions: 55-minute coaching sessions with Lacey. Sessions can be scheduled weekly, biweekly, or at a pace that honors where you are in the process — this work does not need to be rushed.
Between-Session Support: Access to Lacey between sessions via audio messages or email for grounding, reality-checking, or processing what comes up between calls.
Somatic Audio Practices: Custom guided pauses and body-based reflections designed to help you build tolerance for sensation and safety.
Psychoeducational Guides: Written materials that explain the mechanics of complex trauma without the clinical jargon.
Guided Inquiry Prompts: Deep-dive questions to help you map your specific adaptations and survival architecture.
Who This Is For
This program is for you if:
You struggle with a persistent feeling of being defective, unworthy, or "too much/not enough."
You recognize that your childhood environment was chaotic, neglectful, or emotionally harmful, even if it didn't look like textbook abuse.
You are exhausted by your own coping mechanisms (perfectionism, hyper-independence, people-pleasing).
You want an approach that includes the body and the nervous system, not just talk therapy.
You were never the problem.
Living with complex trauma is exhausting. We can have deep existential dread that something is wrong. We think we are wrong, our relationships are wrong, our jobs are wrong—nothing feels settling and nothing feels safe. There is a reason you feel this way, and in this program, we get a chance to untangle it.
Having words and context for your experience can make all the difference. It becomes the doorway for the relief of knowing that you make sense, and nothing is wrong with you.
Program cost: $4,500
(Payment plans available: Two installments of $2,250 or three installments of $1,500)
